3. Frontal Frame


3.1 Size


The size of the frame is determined in order to satisfy the
required face pressure. The frame face pressure can be calculated by the
following formula:


FP = R / (L X B)


where:


FP: frame face pressure (KN/m2)


L: height of frontal frame (m)


B: width of frontal frame (m)


R: the max reaction force of fender (KN)





3.2 Construction of frontal frame


The frame is consisting of vertical and horizontal steel
members and a frontal steel plate so as to withstand the reaction force
arising when the fender is compressed.


Frontal pads are fixed to the frontal steel plate by bolts and nuts and are replaceable if damaged.


After sand blasting, the frame is painted for
resisting corrosion. As the design of the steel members and eye plates
for various chains is very complicated, LuHang would like to
design and recommend after obtaining the design criteria for the
fendering system.
